Interstate Custom Interiors has a house specialty of doing 60’s era suicide door Lincolns, but of course, they also do a wide variety of different vehicle interiors, from full custom interiors to partial interiors and repairs and upgrades too. Featured here is the custom interior they created for a 1957 Chevy Nomad written by owner Nick Humrick.

“We kept the original look and feel, but with a more modern look. We used red leather from Relicate. The front bucket seats are from a 1964 Impala, and we removed all the spring assemblies from the buckets and the rear bench seat. Then custom made all new bolstered foam cushions. The rear seat is the original that was modified. The headliner was done in a gray Mercedes wool cloth, to go with the painted roof on the outside, as well as lighten up the interior. The black material is the factory original “cloud” cloth. For the carpet, we used black German Square Weave. Speakers in the front kick panels, as well as the rear side panels. We also relocated the rear Vintage Air A.C. unit, that was located in the back cargo area, inside the car… and moved it under the car out of the way, which then gave him the full cargo space. Plus, the A/C looked ugly back there! Lol We ran the A/C ducts for the actual vents, from under the car up into, and out of the rear side panels. We used the same vents, which are just above the rear speakers, as the front under dash mounted air conditioner. All panels were made out of aluminum.”
