The Loper’s Service Center specializes in working on older cars and trucks. Here are several recent examples. A 1966 Ford T-Bird has been fitted with a Loper’s built 428 cid Super Cobra Jet V-8 engine, with Edelbrock aluminum heads and a roller cam. A ‘66 Ford Mustang came in needing some engine repairs on its 410 cid small block Ford engine. A 1970 Chevelle SS 454 is receiving some engine tuning and being converted to Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners. A 1955 Pontiac Chieftain had its original 287 cid Strato-Streak V-8 engine fully rebuilt at Loper’s. Mike told me that acquiring parts for this 68-year-old engine was challenging, but they found them and it is now fully rebuilt back to its original condition. A 1966 Chrysler convertible is being converted to four-wheel disc brakes. The independent rear differential from a 1981 Corvette has been fully rebuilt with 4.11 gear and positraction. In front of the Loper’s Performance Center are 5 cars that received work in the Service Center. A 1970 Plymouth Cuda got a new clutch, was upgraded with air conditioning, and had its tri-power carburetors fully rebuilt. A ‘69 Chevy El Camino was fitted with a Loper’s built 575 cid big block V-8. A ‘57 Chevy was converted to a 383 cid stroker small block V-8 & 700R4 AOD transmission, and 4 wheel disc brakes, and a completely new exhaust system. A ‘66 Mercury Comet received performance tuning on its 289 V-8 and had its C-4 automatic rebuilt for street/ strip performance. A 1969 Chrysler 300 had its 383 cid engine and 727 torque-flight transmission fully rebuilt and EFI (electronic fuel injection) added to the engine and a new dual exhaust system was added. Now available inside the Loper’s Performance Center are freshly built Chevy and Ford V-8 engines, or you can have your own engine rebuilt at Loper’s. Whipple and Edelbrock superchargers are also now available at Loper’s Performance Center. Call Loper’s at 602-264-5288, or stop by at 902 E. Indian School Rd. in Phoenix. They’ve been at the same location for well over 50 years. Please mention Roddin’ & Racin’ when you call or stop by.
