This Barracuda is my 3rd 1966 edition that I have owned. My 1st Barracuda was from 1967 to 1970. My 2nd Barracuda was 15 years ago. My loving wife Elizabeth, surprised me with it at my 60th birthday party. She had bid on it online, and won. My 2 brothers Freddy and Roland went from New Jersey to Ohio in February to pick up the Barracuda and bring it back to New Jersey. Freddy kept it hidden from me until my birthday party. I was literally in tears when he drove up in it. I kept this Barracuda for the next 8 years. After putting substantial money into it, this Barracuda still had rust issues in the frame. So I gave up on this one, kept it, and turned it into a ‘parts car’ for my present edition Barracuda. I bought the shell in Pennsylvania 8 years ago. My brother Freddy and I did a ground-up restoration on it. Freddy built the 340 C.I.D. engine. Only 12,000 miles on it since the build. All interior parts came from the 2nd ‘parts car’. We took it down to bare metal, and rust proofed the entire car, sound proofed it, and replaced the entire wiring system. Then we installed new carpeting & headliner and all new brakes, gas lines and installed a new stainless gas tank. The shocks, and the entire front end was newly installed. New safety features that were added include a dual master cylinder for the brakes, along with front disc brakes, and electronic ignition. 4 years ago, I added new Goodrich, raised white letter tires, along with Cragar rims. Freddy and his friend Al, did the beautiful paint job – without a paint booth. I just wish my precious wife Elizabeth was here to enjoy it together. I put together a car show April 1st 2023. All funds raised went to the American Cancer Society. Also, a heartfelt thanks to Rod Loveless, for this honor and privilege of showcasing my beautiful 1966 Barracuda in Roddin’ & Racin’.
